At Dawn Ministries ("we," "us," or "our") operates At Dawn (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

App Usage Data

How Your Data Is Stored

By default, user-generated data such as prayers, journal entries, reading progress, and bookmarks is stored locally on your device using secure local storage. This means your information remains on your device unless you choose to enable account syncing.

Optional Account Syncing

If you choose to create an account and enable synchronization, your data may be securely transmitted to our servers so it can be accessed across multiple devices. Server-stored data may include prayers, journal entries, bookmarks, reading progress, and group content.

All transmissions are encrypted using industry-standard security protocols.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. These measures may include encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure server infrastructure, password hashing with industry-standard algorithms, and role-based access controls.

However, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law. Where required, notification will be provided without unreasonable delay, and in no event later than 72 hours after becoming aware of the breach (as required under GDPR), or within the timeframe required by applicable state law.

Notification may be provided via email, in-app notification, or prominent posting on our website. The notification will include the nature of the breach, the types of data affected, the steps we are taking to address the breach, and recommendations for how you can protect yourself.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App's services. Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app storage. Server-stored data is retained until you delete your account, you request deletion, or the data is no longer necessary to operate the App.

Group Content

The App allows users to share content within private study groups, including prayer requests, celebrations, and conversations. Content shared within a group is visible only to members of that group. Users should exercise discretion when sharing personal information.

Content Generation Disclosure

Some content within At Dawn, including certain devotional materials and topical studies, may be generated using automated tools. Generated content is reviewed to ensure alignment with Biblical teachings before publication.

All Scripture references use the King James Version (Public Domain) unless otherwise stated. Generated content is intended solely for spiritual encouragement and educational purposes.

Subscription and Payment Data

If you subscribe to a premium plan, payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment card information. Subscription status and entitlement data may be managed through third-party subscription management services (such as RevenueCat).

We may retain records of your subscription status, billing period, and transaction identifiers for service delivery and support purposes.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

At Dawn includes content suitable for families and children. We are committed to protecting children's privacy consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We recommend that children under the age of 13 use the App with parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information without consent, please contact us so we can remove the information.

Data Controller: At Dawn Ministries is the data controller for personal data collected through the App.

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on: (a) your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; (b) the performance of our contract with you (providing App services); and (c) our legitimate interests in improving and securing the App.

Your Rights: Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and port your data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

International Data Transfers: If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure your data receives adequate protection in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Health and Sensitive Data Disclaimer

The App is not a medical device and is not subject to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) or similar healthcare regulations. While the App may collect information related to mood, wellness habits, fitness activity, or dietary preferences, this data is used solely to personalize your experience and is not used for medical purposes.

You should not enter protected health information (PHI) into the App. We do not establish a provider-patient relationship and are not a covered entity under HIPAA.

Do Not Track

Some web browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. However, we do not engage in cross-site tracking of our users.

Automated Decision-Making

The App uses automated tools to personalize content recommendations, such as devotional suggestions, scripture recommendations, and wellness content. These automated processes do not produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on users. You may contact us if you have questions about how automated recommendations work.

Data Deletion

You may delete your locally stored data at any time by clearing the App's storage through your device settings.

If you have enabled account syncing, you may request deletion of your server-stored data by contacting us. Once verified, your data will be permanently deleted within a reasonable timeframe.

Account Deletion

If the App allows account creation, users may request full account deletion by contacting our privacy team. Upon verification, all server-stored data associated with the account will be permanently removed.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When updates occur, the Effective Date will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes are posted indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
